Chateau Benoit.
Note
Biographical Note: Chateau Benoit was established in 1979 by Fred and Mary Benoit. Fred Benoit had always been interested in farming because his family had always been agriculturally oriented while he was growing up. After Fred retired from his career as a physician, he followed his dream of getting back to the land, and he and his wife Mary planted their first vineyard just outside of Salem. They planted not long after the modern Oregon wine pioneers had started and the Benoits were able to receive help from those who had come before them. Fred and Mary were involved in several organizations during their time in the industry, including Knights of the Vine, the Oregon Winery Association, and Mary was a part of Women for Wine Sense. After many years growing grapes for Chateau Benoit, they finally decided to officially retire and sell the business to Anne Amie Vineyards.
