International Programs OfficeThe Jim McDaniel Papers include correspondence, newspaper articles, land sale documents and loan documents pertaining to the purchase of the land and equipment used to create and maintain the McDaniel Vineyard. The paper records also contain written records of grape crops and sales contracts. Photographs include images of the early days of the vineyard plantings, harvest parties, neighboring vineyard and winery owners, the family home and photos of the area surrounding the vineyard.

The collection contains photographs, a scrapbook, two group photos, grade reports and letters from the school, a chapter from Mark Rich’s unpublished autobiography, as well as two yearbooks, Linfield Reviews, and miscellaneous memorabilia and biblical documents. The collection also includes Mark Rich’s baseball sweater from his time at Linfield College.

Tax and legal information about the development of wine and the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) and state government is documented. The collection also contains information on the external affairs of the Oregon wine industry as a whole which includes regional data, varietal information, Oregon wine events, news, marketing and botany research, newsletters, winery information, and tourist information and research.
Oregon Wine BoardThe collection is comprised of articles, letters, photos and other artifacts that feature attributes, reviews, events, celebrations and announcements pertaining to Mr. DeVito and Salishan Lodge. The majority of the collection is an account of Mr. DeVito’s success as the maître d’ and cellar master at Salishan Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Oregon. There is documentation in the Phillip DeVito Collection illustrating how people would travel to Salishan primarily to have an encounter with Mr. DeVito and benefit from his wine expertise.
Phillip DeVitoThis collection contains newspaper and magazine articles highlighting the Ponzi Vineyards, photographs of the vineyards, invitations sent to and from the Ponzi’s, information about the Ponzi Vineyards published by the Ponzi Estate and outside publications, documents of correspondence, and miscellaneous materials that include mentioning of the Ponzi Vineyards and their wine.
Dick and Nancy PonziThis collection contains mostly photographs. The photographs depict the beginning of the vineyard and winery. The photographic history takes you from a barren land of dry grass and dirt roads to the construction of a marvelous contemporary building used to produce their award-winning wines; beautifully landscaped gardens; and immaculately maintained vineyards. The photos also capture annual harvest highlights, annual dinner parties, as well as photos of staff and vineyard workers. There are also several photos from wine and food events attended by Rex Hill Vineyards and photos of events that took place at Rex Hill Vineyards, such as weddings and fundraising events.
But there can also be found VHS promotional videos, slides, negatives and a small collection of graphic art items used to promote the vineyard.
Rex HillThe collection contains mostly paper documents, but there can also be found an audio recording, a few photo sets, some poster boards, and a medal. This collection was largely compiled by Susan and Bill Sokol Blosser over the years that they ran the winery. The records consist of mostly business, finance, and publicity, but there is also a plethora of information about the history and the day to day proceedings of the winery. Information on the wine, the vines, the buildings, the properties, the people, the associates, the business, and the founder are included in the collection.
Susan Sokol BlosserThis collection contains framed photos of Dr. Teal and the Linfield football team from the years 1974 to 1994. The commemorative plaques for service and 1986 NAIA championship date from Dr. Teal’s tenure as volunteer team physician. A postcard, screen-print, and Linfield football highlight DVD from the 2004 season complete the collection.
Dr. Stephen TealThis collection contains photographs taken while in the Army, letters written to his parents while in the Army, military documents, medals and patches, as well as documents from his time participating in research about radioisotopes. The collection also houses Bob Jones’ military jacket.
Bob JonesThis collection contains publications, photographs and documents pertaining to the Winegrowers Council of Oregon, as well as event information from the period Fred and Mary Benoit owned Chateau Benoit (1979-1999). Some of the publications include: The Oregon Wine Publication, The Tendril, NW Wine Almanac, various books, handbooks, and more. These publications range from the years 1970 to 1999. There are numerous documents relating to different events Chateau Benoit put on, attended, or at which Fred and Mary Benoit were guests. There are also many publications and documents from the Benoits/ time as members in the Wine Growers Association.
Dr. Fred Benoit
