Scope and content

This collection is a digital representation of several thousand 35-millimeter color slides used to document, characterize, and teach about forensics and physical anthropology field work. The slides were taken by alumnus Lyle Hubbard and document his travels outside of Oregon state, as well as projects at University of Oregon, Portland Community College, Washington State University, the Oregon Bureau of Land Management, and University of Tennessee.

General note

Summary: This collection is a digital representation of several thousand 35-millimeter color slides used to document, characterize, and teach about forensics and physical anthropology field work. The slides were taken by alumnus Lyle Hubbard and document his travels outside of Oregon state, as well as projects at University of Oregon, Portland Community College, Washington State University, the Oregon Bureau of Land Management, and University of Tennessee.

General note

Biographical Note: Lyle Hubbard graduated from Linfield College in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science degree. With interests in archeology and forensics in particular, he has held positions both in the field and teaching at institutions such as Portland Community College, Oregon State University, Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and further. After graduation, Hubbard pursued various education paths, earning advanced degrees in biology, oceanography, and physical anthropology.

His advisors include Ken Bennett at University of Oregon, and Grover Krantz at Washington State University, under whom Hubbard earned his Ph. D. in physical anthropology. Apart from higher education, Hubbard worked with William Bass of the Knoxville forensics body farm in the 1980s, the Oregon Bureau of Land Management, as well as with Grover Krantz in 1994 to disprove a Bigfoot case.
