General note

Summary: The International Programs Office (IPO) collection contains photographs from the International Programs office and study abroad scrapbooks. The images range from students and landscapes abroad to office photos from the associated International club events. The collection also includes sashes from study abroad, and a series of photographs from the 1994 East Asian Symposium and Cultural Awareness Week.

General note

Historical Note: Even before the first exchange program in 1976, the International Programs Office has pursued its mission of encouraging a global perspective. Linfield’s International Office now offers study abroad opportunities in 14 countries including Austria, Australia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, France, German, Ireland, Korea, New Zealand, Norway, Senegal, Spain and China (Beijing and Hong Kong). The IPO collection houses materials that relate to the office’s mission, especially integrating student perspectives. The documentation of study abroad, International Club and other events in the past testify to the efforts of the office to continue support for student learning.
