Algemene aantekening
In 1972, Jim McDaniel left the family grain and seed business known as McDaniel Grain Co. and moved his family from McMinnville, Oregon to Dundee, Oregon with plans to build a vineyard. By 1973, Jim McDaniel was producing and selling grapes to the small group of winery owners in western Oregon. The McDaniel Vineyards sold grapes to some of the more prominent wineries in Western Oregon such as Erath Vineyards, Sokol- Blosser Vineyards and Eyrie Vineyards. In 1985, McDaniel sold his vineyard and home to Dr. Donald Olson and it was renamed the Olson Vineyard Estate. Jim McDaniel continued to manage the vineyard for a few years after the sale to Dr. Olson.
