General note
Biographical note: A Linfield interim president (in 1931-1932), born in 1877 and died in 1958. Frerichs was the dean of faculty and a professor of German for nearly four decades. During this time, Frerich filled roles wherever Linfield needed him, serving as librarian, editor of the college’s publication, and as chairman of multiple faculty committees. Outside of Linfield, he was a pastor at the Hillsboro Baptist Church. Frerich received his higher education from Carthage College, The Colgate-Rochester Divinity School, the University of Oregon, the University of Washington, and the University of Greifswald in Germany.
