This collection contains information on the internal affairs of the OWAB: financials, office management, board meetings, membership data, and correspondence. Tax and legal information about the development of wine and the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC) and state government is documented. The collection also contains information on the external affairs of the Oregon wine industry as a whole which includes regional data, varietal information, Oregon wine events, news, marketing and botany research, newsletters, winery information, and tourist information and research.
Oregon Wine BoardThis collection contains mostly photographs. The photographs depict the beginning of the vineyard and winery. The photographic history takes you from a barren land of dry grass and dirt roads to the construction of a marvelous contemporary building used to produce their award-winning wines; beautifully landscaped gardens; and immaculately maintained vineyards. The photos also capture annual harvest highlights, annual dinner parties, as well as photos of staff and vineyard workers. There are also several photos from wine and food events attended by Rex Hill Vineyards and photos of events that took place at Rex Hill Vineyards, such as weddings and fundraising events.
But there can also be found VHS promotional videos, slides, negatives and a small collection of graphic art items used to promote the vineyard.
Rex HillThis collection contains a unique comprehensive representation of the evolution of Amity Vineyards and the history of the Oregon wine industry. The collection encompasses the day-to-day functionalities of Amity Vineyards, including business correspondence, marketing strategies, laboratory information and personal memorabilia. In addition to focusing on Amity Vineyard’s 40-year evolution, this collection also encompasses the unique perspective on the development of the Oregon wine industry through various publications, documentation of various Oregon wine organizations, as well as through local, regional and international wine events hosted by or featuring various Oregon wineries.
